I Know you like I know my hands

Was speaking to a dear old friend of mine and I said something along the lines of I know you like I know my hands lol. We of course disregarded the idea. But then i started to think...This is for the friend lol

I know you like I know my hands
I know they belong to the same body
So they're very much connected in a profound way
They are just always apart

I know they have the ability to come together
Create an image of unity
they work together to serve the same body
yet still, always apart

Together they become the symbol of peace, love, friendship
Cause though they have the tendency to separate

Fact is

They’ll always reunite again,

Come together to reach out, lift up, tear down, when it's needed
But in the little times when things are just average
and nothing is going on
they swing
along side the body
neither making any movement to connect to the other in any way
they go on, remain separated
individuals but identified under the same name

Loads of similarities I can say
yet so different
different in many ways
And yes the colour may look the same
and even the shape at first glance may appear the same
but close observaation will show the slight but big differences
that perhaps one hand is a darker shade of black
whilst the other is just that bit longer
and every line on each palm marks each palm’s individuality
finger nails show that they're often involved in separate things

when needs be they''ll come together
